Reba Janet Lawing Falls

Reba Janet Lawing Falls went to her Heavenly home Monday, December 21, 2020.  She was born in Nebo, North Carolina June 28, 1933 to the late Margie Bowman Lawing and William L. Lawing.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Henry Lee Falls, Sr in 2008 after 56 years of a wonderful union.

She is survived by daughter Janet Marie Falls, son Henry Lee Falls, Jr, daughter-in-law Betty Carroll Falls, granddaughter Erin Jo Falls, grandson Henry Lee Falls, III and spouse Elizabeth Willett Falls and great grandchildren Henry Lee Falls, IV and Winston Breckenridge Falls.

Reba was the last surviving member of her family generation having been predeceased by one sister Marie Lawing Bowers and seven brothers, Raymond Lawing, Paul Lawing Sr., Hubert Lawing, Milford G. Lawing, William Lawing, Gene Lawing and Alvin Lawing.  She was also predeceased by brother-in-law Wilbur Bowers and sisters-in-law Jane Merritt Lawing, Retha Lawing, Mary Jo Lawing, Martha McGimsey Lawing, Avis Lawing, Mary Ann Lawing, Alice Lawing and Allie Lawing.  She also leaves to celebrate her Heavenly homecoming cherished friend Betty Crater Masten, and several nieces and nephews.

Reba graduated from Gray High School in Winston-Salem.  She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church for over 60 years where she served as a Sunday School teacher and on the Hospitality Committee.  She retired from the State of North Carolina.  She started a reading program at her children’s elementary school both reading to classes and providing books to those in need and to the library.  She also serviced as a substitute teacher.

Reba faithfully and lovingly fulfilled all her God given roles with complete love and devotion including Christian, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 501 West Fifth Street, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27101.
