Reba Stimpson Dull

Reba Samantha Stimpson Dull, 86, of Lewisville passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Vienna Village. She was born in Wake County on February 1, 1929, the youngest of three daughters to the late Joseph Erastus Stimpson and Edna Shoaf Dorsett. At age 13, she moved to Lewisville where she lived the remainder of her life. She was valedictorian of her graduating class of 1947 at Lewisville High School and organized many class reunions. On September 4, 1948 she married Henry Grady Dull, who was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, an early member of the Lewisville Historical Society and Lewisville Town Council. She was married for 54 years. After working for a few years at Modern Chevrolet, Reba spent 33 ½ years at Western Electric (AT&T), now Alcatel-Lucent and retired in 1988 as a Technical Writer. In addition to her business career, she and her children, husband and his parents spent much time on the family farm growing fruits and vegetables for the family and sharing with friends and relatives. She was an experienced cook and many delicious meals and desserts originated from the Dull family kitchen. She and her husband enjoyed attending outdoor dramas across the state and was supportive of the outdoor musicals at Shallowford Square. Reba was an active member of Lewisville Baptist Church for many years, and she enjoyed participating in many activities including the JOY (Just Old Youngsters) Club. In more recent years, she was a member of Lewisville United Methodist Church where she enjoyed the circle meetings, Sunday School and wonderful friendships. Reba was a faithful member of the Lewisville Historical Society (charter member), a member of the Clemmons YMCA and volunteered faithfully with the Forsyth County Board of Elections for many years, working the polls at Lewisville Elementary School. She loved her children and grandchildren and was always supportive of their endeavors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Grady Dull, who passed away April 22, 2003, two sisters, Euphia Virginia S. Norwood Waller, Rhonda Edith S. Echols and a half-sister, Jo Ann McLean. Surviving are two children, Gary Maurice Dull and Karen Dull Baiada, both of Lewisville; three grandchildren, Thomas Matthew Baiada of Richmond, VA, and Daniel Mark Baiada and Emma Ann Dull both of Lewisville; a half-brother, Joseph Erastus (Earl) Stimpson of Angier, NC; a half-sister, Elizabeth Faye; and a nephew, John Arthur Echols of Murfreesboro, TN.
