Belews Creek - Mr. Raymond Henry Williams was a righteous man who passed away leaving behind a long legacy on July 10, 2015. He was born January 23, 1922 in Verdi, Texas to the late Raymond Callaway Williams and Alta Elizabeth LaBauve Williams. Raymond served in the Air Force during World War II as crew chief on the P-47, receiving the ""Good Conduct Medal."" He was a member and had served as an Elder of Linville Forest Church of Christ. Mr. Williams obtained his private flying license.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline D. Williams, and a son, Larry Henry Williams, two brothers, Joe and Coleman Williams, a grandson, Shawn Preston Williams, and a son-in-law, Alfred Williams, Sr.
Surviving are; two daughters, LaVon W. Meadows and husband Eddie of Tobaccoville, and Cynthia W. Willard and husband Tim of Belews Creek, three sons, Ronald Henry Williams and wife Amy of Winston Salem, Donald Ray Williams and wife Leigh Ann of Belews Creek, Ricky Callaway Williams of Winston Salem, twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and two sisters, Nellie Mea Scott, and Vera Elizabeth Smith.
A Funeral Service will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, July 13, 2015 at Linville Forest Church of Christ with Pastor Kelly Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM Sunday evening at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. A special thanks to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care Center from the Stokes Team, and especially to Lisa Pruitt, his primary nurse.
