Mr. Raymond Otis Terry, Jr., 79, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Terry was born in Lynchburg, VA on May 11, 1932 to Raymond and Margaret Kuhn Terry. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Terry was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church for 51 years, where he was served as a Deacon and an Elder. He retired from Western Electric with 29 years of service. Mr. Terry loved fishing, wood carving, and had a talent for making things with his hands. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He was a true Hokie fan. Mr. Terry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Iris Glass. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Terry, of 56 years; three daughters, Karen Haneline and husband Steve of Raleigh, Brenda Simmons and husband Jack of Sebree, KY, and Cynthia High and husband Rob of Round Rock, TX; a sister, Anne Smith and husband Herman of Goode, VA; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kevin Conley officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Monday, August 29, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
