Mr. Raymond Nelson Martin, 80, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center.

Raymond was born on January 8, 1945, to the late Paul Martin and China Nelson Martin in Forsyth County, NC.

He served in the United States Army as a Vietnam War Veteran before owning and operating RN Martin Builders Construction and Plumbing Business in Winston-Salem, NC, until his retirement. He earned a business degree while working at starting his business. Raymond was an avid golfer for many years and enjoyed deep-sea fishing.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Carol Lynn Thomas; and two sons, Ricky and Kevin Martin.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Angelena (Al) Hicks; son, Raymond (Laura) Martin; step-son, Jonathan (Kim) Sweet; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and chaplains of Forsyth Medical Center.
