Raymond Fritts

Mr. Raymond Edward Fritts, 90, local farmer from Winston-Salem died on January 25, 2020, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Raymond was born in Sullivan county, TN, on April 24, 1929, to Elva Combs and Walter Brownlow Fritts. Raymond started his trucking career with Mclean trucking and retired from Montgomery Ward with 18 years of service. He was an excellent farmer and known to all for his delicious vegetables and meticulous garden. He truly never met a stranger, had a great sense of humor, and a knack for embellishing stories. To know Raymond was to love him, he was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Edward Fritts; granddaughter, Tammy Fritts; eight brothers; and four sisters. Surviving are one daughter, Judy Yontz; two sons, Michael Fritts and Larry Fritts (wife Vickie); eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Danny Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all who donated food and resources to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, making it possible for them to comfortably spend precious time with their loved one. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
