Mr. Raymond Warren Bogart, 78, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Wake Forest Baptist Health after a lengthy illness. He was born August 18, 1934 in Smithville Flats, NY to Raymond Bailey Bogart and Almeda Sutton Bogart. He loved the Lord and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Tully Central High School in Tully, NY and attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. Mr. Bogart had a wonderful sense of humor and was an encouragement to everyone met. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Bogart of the home; three sisters, Kathleen Beardsley of Homer, NY, Beverly Turner of Knoxville, TN, and Shirley DeVaul of Calexico, CA; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Salem Baptist Fellowship Hall with Dr. Howard Wilburn, Rev. Gary Sammons, and Rev. Haynes Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salem Baptist Church Deacon Care Fund, 429 South Broad St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101. The family wishes to thank the medical staff of Wake Forest Baptist Health ICU, IMC, and Palliative Care units and would like to especially recognize nurses Audrey Mahoney and Jennifer Montgomery for the loving care given to Raymond.
