Ray Sherman Myers

MYERS - WINSTON-SALEM Mr. Ray Sherman Myers passed away peacefully Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born April 14, 1926 in Forsyth County to the late John Sherman Myers and Lula Leftwich Myers. Mr. Myers proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard and was a member of the VFW. He was a faithful member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Keiger Myers; and brother, Richard. Surviving are his daughter, Teresa Mabe and husband, Keith of High Point; son, Wayne Myers and wife, Jennifer of Raleigh; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Emma Gray Sechrist of Hampton, VA. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with Dr. Gus Thomas and Dr. Cecil Cave officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 3733 Ogburn Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
