Ray Thomas Mastin

Mr. Ray Thomas Mastin, 76, died on May 28, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Ray was born in Wilkes County to the late Nobie Chambers and William T. Mastin. He was preceded in death by one brother, Clay Mastin; and two sisters, Doris M. Bumgardner and Diane Laws. Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Vera Mastin; one son, Randy T. Mastin; and one brother, Jerry Mastin; and special nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division, who served in Mainz, Germany. He later retired from Winston-Salem Police Department with 30 years of service. A man of God and his country, he was a proud member of Glenn View Baptist Church and The American Legion. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Brad Wright officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glenn View Baptist Church, 4275 Glenn Hi Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
