Ray Holliday Kennemore

Mr. Ray Holliday Kennemore, 85, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born January 5, 1925 in Greenville, SC to Arthur W. and Elsie Holliday Kennemore. Mr. Kennemore was a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church and West Side Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Engineering and retired from AT&T with 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII in the European Theatre and the Army Corps of Engineers in Italy. Mr. Kennemore enjoyed reading and loved working in his yard. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard and Ralph. Surviving is his loving wife of 53 years, Norma Sherrer Kennemore; a daughter, Holli K. Cook and husband Tim of Mechanicsville, VA; a son, Steven Ray Kennemore and wife Janet of Hampton, TN; five grandchildren, Jacob, Tori, Olivia and Luke Cook, and Anna Kennemore; a sister, Inez K. Bannister of Greenville, SC; and nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, SC. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 11 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel in Winston-Salem.
