Rashmi Luther

Rashmi Amarnath Luther, 74, passed away at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on April 29, 2022.  Rashmi was born on February 2, 1948, to Maya Devi Radhakishen and Amarnath Ganpatrai in Nairobi, Kenya.  She arrived in the US Summer of 1974 and went to school at Texas Women’s University and Kansas State University where she earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Fine Arts.  She played field hockey both in Kenya and in the US. She moved to Winston-Salem in early 1990s and enjoyed a rewarding career as a teacher at Greenhills School.  Rashmi was an extremely talented artist and loved to sing. In addition to her parents, Rashmi was preceded in death by her two brothers, Harjinder Kumar Luther and Kusum Amarnath (KAN) Luther.  Surviving are her nephew Niraj Luther and niece Rina Arline (Chris) as well as numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews across the UK and USA. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, at the Robert F. Miller Center at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home.
