A new life eternal began for Ransom (Ronnie) D. Myers Jr. on February 13, 2012 as he passed from this life to his everlasting home in the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He was born on August 4, 1924 to Nora and Ransom Myers Sr. in Winston-Salem, NC. On Dec 21, 1947, he married Venice Warren Myers, whom he loved for over 65 years. He is survived by his wife, Venice, their two sons Jeffrey Myers and Scott Myers, his wife Laura, grandsons Camden, Gabriel, and Daniel and brothers Ronald Myers and wife Amelia, and James Myers and wife Glenda. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his brother Loxie Myers, sisters, Helen Trimble, Louise Darnell, Shelby James, and Barbara Owens. His sons have been blessed to have a father who was a hero in this life, a pattern to follow and a light to shine on the path forward. He was a member of First Wesleyan Methodist Church of Winston-Salem and served as Sunday school teacher for many years. He served in the military during World War II. The family will welcome visitors at Hayworth- Miller, Silas Creek on Wednesday Feb 15th from 6-8:00 p.m., and the funeral service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Chapel on Thursday Feb 16th at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. He cherished every moment of his life, and he will be greatly missed as one of the most giving and loving individuals who every walked God's earth as he lived a life that was a reflection of the love of his Saviour shining through him for the world to see. The family of Ronnie extends its gratitude and appreciation to everyone for the many prayers and acts of kindness evident in thought and deed and for the lovely flowers sent in honor of this time.
