Mr. Randall (Randy) Hunter Reins, 56, of Winston-Salem died on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born January 1, 1955 in Forsyth County to Marilyn Evans Reins and Joe Hunter Reins. He moved with his family in his early years to Hickory. There, he was a member of First United Methodist Church. During his youth, he received his God and Country award and went on to become an Eagle Scout. He obtained a private pilot\'s license at the age of 16. Mr. Reins graduated with a BS degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He spent his professional career in marketing and sales. He worked for many years at Salem Distributing Company, Inc. in Clemmons, and last worked at Sutton Scientifics, Inc. in Star. He also worked from his home office through his friend James Fox, owner of Ocean State Abrasives in West Warwick, Rhode Island. In his leisure time, Mr. Reins enjoyed fishing and camping in the mountains with his brother and his dog. Mr. Reins is survived by his parents; a sister, Cheryl Reins Malcolm, and her husband, Kenneth Washam Malcolm, Jr.; a brother, Blair Armstrong Reins, and his wife, Judy Flower Reins; and his beloved Australian beagle, Aussie. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in the chapel at Ardmore United Methodist Church, 630 South Hawthorne Road in Winston-Salem with Pastor Jock Hollis officiating. All friends and family are welcome. A special thanks to Dr. Richard A. Brodkin and all the health care workers in the Oncology Department at Forsyth Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Derrick L. Davis Forsyth Regional Cancer Center.
