TEDDER - WINSTON-SALEM Mr. Ralph Piercy Tedder, 85, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on July 20, 1927 in Caldwell County to the late Cora Lee Piercy Tedder and Cicero Thomas Tedder. Mr. Tedder proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from AT&T in 1988 with 35 years of service. Mr. Tedder was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville. Mr. Tedder is survived by his loving wife of 61 years: Gladys Wilkey Tedder; two sons: William Steven Tedder of Rural Hall and Robert Wayne Tedder (Kathy) of Winston-Salem; one grandson: A.J. Tedder; two brothers: Ray Tedder (JoAnn) of Lenoir and Roy Tedder (Lorena) of Lenoir; and two sisters: Gladys Snyder (Sam) of Caser and Ruby Annas (Douglas) of Lenoir. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville with the Rev. Terry Rausch officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 8 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: First Baptist Church of Stanleyville Family Life Center Fund, 851 Ziglar Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
