Mr. Ralph Hines Doss passed away Thursday October 20, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born April 15, 1921 in Forsyth County to the late Jesse Randolph and Elma Craft Doss. Mr. Doss was the owner/operator of Doss and Sons Boats and Motors. He served for two years in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Doss was a Mason and Past Master with Winston-Salem Lodge 167 for 54 years. He was in the Central Piedmont Bowlers Hall of Fame. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking and working with his grape vines. Mr. Doss enjoyed weekends at his lake house at High Rock Lake. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; and they will miss him tremendously. Mr. Doss was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years Hattie Mayberry Doss; brothers June and Jim Doss; and a sister Betty Doss Revels. He is survived by a daughter Judy D. Wilkes (Jamie) of Winston-Salem; son Stephen R. Doss (Carol) of Winston-Salem; sister Peg Van Hoy (Hale) of Clemmons; sister-in-law Wanda Doss of Winston-Salem; grandchildren Kelly Brinkley (Kevin) of Clemmons, Thad Wilkes of New York, Jeff Doss (Jennifer) of Philadelphia, Todd Doss (Beth) of Richmond, VA, and Brent Doss of Winston-Salem; great grandchildren Quintin Brinkley, Zach Brinkley, Lucy Doss, Jayden Doss, and Andrew Doss. A very special thanks to Gail Porter and Ernie Herr for their loving support of our father. A graveside service will be held Saturday October 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Parklawn Memorial Park.
