Ralph Carroll

Mr. Ralph Norman Carroll, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 at his home. He was born November 14, 1931 in Forsyth County to Willie H. Carroll and Ella Mae Brown Carroll. Mr. Carroll was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Motsinger Class. There he served numerous positions in the church such as Head Usher, Trustee and served on the Financial Committee. Ralph retired from the City of Winston-Salem as a supervisor in the Meter Division. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Mary Mayberry, Ruth Figes and Clyde, Herman and Richard Carroll. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, June Eller Carroll; nephews, Jerry Mayberry of Winston-Salem, NC and Michael Carroll of Tennessee; a great niece, Kim Long Mendenhall of Lexington, NC; great nephews, Ricky Long of Lewisville, NC and Michael Mayberry of Florida; a great great niece, Amanda Padgett of Pinnacle, NC; a great great great niece and nephew, Katie and Adam of Pinnacle, NC. Also surviving are his Godchildren, Bill Parker, Bob Parker and Ben Parker, all of Tennessee and Susan Whitten of Texas; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Hedrick of Winston-Salem and brothers-in-law, Johnny L. Eller of Hubert, NC, Jerry A. Eller of Hickory, NC and Joel H. Eller of Hamlet, NC. The family would like to thank Ralph’s caregivers, Jennifer Tuttle and Christin Banner for their care and compassion. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Mary Miller officiating. Masks are required by the church to those who attend the visitation and the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church or to Trellis Supportive Care.
