Mrs. Rachel Bridges Tuttle, 86, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018. She was born June 9, 1932 in Iredell County to the late James Monroe Bridges and Maggie Horton Bridges. Rachel was a faithful member of Rural Hall Christian Church and was known for her love for her family, friends, and gardening. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey O. Tuttle, and five siblings. Rachel is survived by three daughters: Sandra Tuttle, Marcia Tuttle Adams (Tony), and Anita Clayton (Rickey); five grandchildren: Misty Meadows (Mike), Molly Newman (Chad), Kelli Mickey (Lee), Shannon Clayton, and Bobby Clayton; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Sidney Bridges (Frankie); and special friend and caregiver, Doris Whitaker. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Rural Hall Christian Church with Pastor Wes McCarter and Pastor Peter Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Rural Hall Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014, in memory of Rachel's late husband, Harvey. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
