Ms. Rachel Anne Templeton, 88, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021. She was born in Forsyth County on January 18, 1933, to the late Luther Bidwell and Flossie Mock Templeton. Ms. Templeton was retired from Fogle Furniture with thirty-five years of dedicated service. She was a lifelong member of Pine Chapel Moravian Church, where she served as the secretary and treasurer. Music was very important to her, and she loved to play her clarinet in the band and sing in the choir at the church. Ms. Templeton loved to volunteer at many nursing homes singing and visiting with the residents.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her twin brother, John Franklin Templeton. Surviving are her two nephews, Richard Templeton and wife Pam of Greenville and Keith Templeton and wife Shannon of Hampstead; four great-nephews and nieces: Heather, Chris, Carly, and Eric; and a host of great-grandnephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be conducted in her honor 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Salem Moravian Graveyard, officiated by the Rev. James Demby. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, Pine Chapel Moravian Church, 324 Goldfloss Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127, or to Sunnyside Ministry, 319 Haled Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
