Rachel Maiden Hollowell

KERNERSVILLE - Rachel Maiden Hollowell, 79, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her home. She was born October 26, 1933 in Davidson Co. to the late John Robert and Grace Lee Everhart Maiden. Rachel was an active member of the Kernersville Moravian Church. She enjoyed participating in the Silver Sneakers and volunteering at the Shepherd's Center of Kernersville. She worked in the health food industry for numerous years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred T. Hollowell, Sr.; daughter, Yvonne DeNicola; grandson, Darrell Smith, Jr.; brother, James Maiden; and daughter-in-law, Wanda Hollowell. Surviving are her sons, Robert May and wife, Tonya of Wilmington, Timothy Hollowell, Sr. of Stokesdale, Fred Hollowell and wife, Carmen of Weston, FL, and Thomas Hollowell and wife, Jennifer of Kernersville; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren on the way; two sisters, Rebecca Cox and husband Bill, and Linda Maiden; one brother, Richard Maiden and wife, Carolyn; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to the Shepherd's Center of Kernersville, PO Box 2044, Kernersville, NC 27285-2044.
