Rachel Rothrock Culler

WINSTON-SALEM-Mrs. Rachel Rothrock Culler, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs. Culler was born on March 2, 1925 in Forsyth County, NC to the late Oscar Harold Rothrock and Bessie Clinard Rothrock. Rachel was a graduate of James A. Gray High School and attended Draughns Business College. She worked for the office of flying safety within the U.S. Government and then spent 32 years with the V.A. Rachel was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Rev. Rufus F. Culler; ten brothers and sisters, Wilburn Rothrock, Roland Rothrock, Koyt Rothrock, Aaron Rothrock, Hollis Rothrock, Charles Rothrock, Lawrence Rothrock, Gladys White, Laler Fulk, and Ennis Stewart. Mrs. Culler is survived by one daughter, Sandra C. Spaugh (Mike) of Winston-Salem; two sons, Danny Ray Culler (Karen) of Leland, NC and Ted A. Culler (Vince) of Alexandria, VA; one granddaughter, Meredith A. Spaugh (Jess); two grandsons, Edward and Joshua Culler; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Christa Warise officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
