Racheal Ludean Joyce Maxcy

Kernersville - Mrs. Racheal Ludean Joyce Maxcy, 90, was called home to find eternal peace with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, October 17, 2015. She was born April 5, 1925 to the late Robert A. Joyce and Mildred Hinsdale Joyce. Racheal was a graduate of Sedge Garden High School, where she was voted Miss Sedge Garden her senior year. She was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and loyally attended until her health declined. Mother was special and truly loved her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd G. Maxcy, and her sister-in-law, Maxine Joyce.
Surviving are; her two daughters, Caron Everhart, and Brona Vest (Richard), three grandchildren, Chris Vest (Stephanie), Rodney Everhart (Shirley), and Tammy Everhart, and three great grandchildren, Sophie, Abby, and Bo Vest, one brother, Donald A. Joyce and his family, and several other extended family members.
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, with Dr. Bobby Roberson and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 pm Monday evening at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
Her daughters wish to thank Winston Salem Nursing and Rehab Center, especially the second floor staff, for the care given to their mother.
