Preston Wayne Shouse, 81, of Kernersville, NC passed away Tuesday June 28, 2022, at his home. He was born on March 13, 1941, in Winston-Salem to James Carl Shouse and Edna McGee Shouse. Preston loved his dog of 12 years, Toby. He married his loving wife Ruby on October 5, 1958, and they were together for 63 years. Preston worked for and retired from Roadway Express as a local driver. He served in the 101st Airborne Division of the Army in the until 1964. He had a love for old cars and going to car shows and working with his son David in his upholstery shop. Preston was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marie Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Shouse; two sons, Ricky (Lisa) Shouse and David Shouse (Sherry); one grandson, Ryan Shouse (Jasmine); his brother, Don (Betty) Shouse of Winston-Salem; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mike (Diane) Clodfelter. A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM Saturday July 2, 2022, with Rt. Rev. Sam Gray Officiating. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel 6:00-8:00PM Friday July 1, 2022.
