Pomposa Fuentes

Pomposa Janeth Fuentes, 65, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, formerly Cathedral City, California, passed away on February 17, 2023. Pomposa was born in 1957 to Lauro de Jesus and Maria Juventina Valdez in Tafetán, Michoacán.

Pomposa was blessed with a large and loving family and her children from her marriage (1989-2023) to Francisco Fuentes brought her much joy. With her family she enjoyed attending her local church, traveling, cooking, and hosting many holidays with her extended family.

Pomposa was an active member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Winston-Salem, NC. She held positions as a Sunday school teacher, altar server and group coordinator. She spent her life serving others, praying for those in need and always willing to step into positions that needed support.

She is survived by Francisco, her husband of 33 years; her sons Cecilio (Antonia), Francisco Jr. (Hannah), Paulo (Alyssa); her daughter Linda (Andres); grandchildren Rodrigo, Yaritzy, Adrianna, Christian, Issac, Mateo, and Samuel; her parents; many brothers and sisters and in-laws; several cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Trellis Supportive Care for their compassionate care during Pomposa’s short stay.

A funeral service will be held in memory of Pomposa on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Prior to the mass, the family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Pomposa fue bendecida con una familia numerosa y amorosa y sus hijos de su matrimonio (1989-2023) con Francisco Fuentes le trajeron mucha alegría. Con su familia disfrutaba asistir a su iglesia local, viajar, cocinar y ser anfitriona de muchas festividades con su familia extendida.

Pomposa era un miembro activo de la Iglesia Católica Our Lady of Mercy en Winston-Salem, NC. Ocupó cargos como maestra de escuela dominical, Ministro de Eucaristía y coordinadora de grupo. Pasó su vida sirviendo a los demás, orando por los necesitados y siempre dispuesta a ocupar puestos que necesitaban apoyo.

Le sobreviven Francisco, su esposo por 33 años; sus hijos Cecilio (Antonia), Francisco Jr. (Hannah), Paulo (Alyssa); su hija Linda (Andrés); nietos Rodrigo, Yaritzy, Adrianna, Christian, Isaac, Mateo y Samuel; sus padres; muchos hermanos y hermanas y suegros; varios primos, sobrinas, sobrinos y sobrinos nietos.

La familia desea agradecer a Trellis Supportive Care por su atención compasiva durante la corta estadía de Pomposa.

Se llevará a cabo una funeral conmemorativa en memoria de Pomposa el martes 21 de febrero de 2023 a las 12:00 p.m. en Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Previo a la misa, la familia recibirá a los amigos a partir de las 11:00 a.m.
