Polly Joyce Owen

On Saturday, February 7, 2009 our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Polly Joyce Owen went to be with her Lord and the love of her life for 57 years, Carl Owen, Sr.. Born March 17, 1921 to the late Frank and Emma Lawson Joyce, she had been a resident of Carmel Hills Retirement Community in Charlotte for the past 5 years. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Lewisville. Surviving are son, Carl ""Bud"", Jr. (Billie), daughters, Carole (""Jim"" Bill) Persiani and Susan (Roy ""Buddy"") Cook, grandchildren, Scott Owen, Amy Tilson, Lauri Cox, Baxter Cook, Carlee Cook, Zach Cook and Jake Cook, great grandchildren, Chris Owen, Nick, Owen, Caleb Cox, Matt Tilson, Brett Cox, Emily Cox, and many nieces and nephews. Polly was also preceded in death by eight sisters and one brother. Funeral Services will be conducted by her son Rev. Bud Owen at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Forsyth Memorial Park. To the staff of Carmel Hills, the family would like to say a heart felt thanks for the love and care you gave to our mom. A memorial service will be held at Carmel Hills Retirement Community in Charlotte at 3:00 pm Friday, February 13, 2009.
