KERNERSVILLE -Polly Barrow Freeman, 84, died September 29, 2008 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born on November 17, 1923 to James Monroe and Jessie Lowrey Barrow. A graduate of Kernersville High School, she married the late Melvin M. Freeman on June 19, 1946 and celebrated 52 years of marriage. She was employed with Western Electric/AT & T in the Purchasing Department with 25 years service. She was a member of Sedge Garden United Methodist Church, in Kernersville, where she was a member of the Frank Walker Sunday School Class, Adult Fellowship, the ""Sunshine Girls"", and the United Methodist Women's Circle. Polly was predeceased by her parents and siblings; Doris Stanley, Pearl Whicker, Bill Barrow, Clara Stack, Nina Fulton, Eula Warren, Paul Barrow, and Lowrey Barrow. She is survived by a son, Ron Freeman and wife ""Lupe"" of Henderson, Nevada; and a daughter Beverley F. Watts and husband, Rev. Douglas Watts of Kernersville. There are two grandchildren, Dale Freeman of Texas, and Sonya F. Van Fleet and husband Mark of Colorado; and four great grand children, Jordan Freeman, Lauren Van Fleet, and Ashley Van Fleet and Nolan Van Fleet to be born in Dec. Funeral Services will be held at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church 794 Sedge Garden Road, Kernersville on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverends Ellis Rouse, Phil Bauguess, and Douglas Watts presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery Visitation will be held at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home in Kernersville on October 1, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Worship Banner Fund at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church, The Alzheimer's Association at 1315 Ashleybrook Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Kate B. The family wishes to express a special ""Thank You"" to her caregivers, Pat Vogler, Terri Freibott, and Dehlia Carver who have been ""Mom's Angels"" during her last days with us and to the many friends and family members who made life such a joy for our ""Mom.""
