Ms. Phyllis Ann Burton Wiles, 70, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, September 11, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Ms. Wiles was born in Forsyth County to the late Leroy and Gertrude Peagram Burton on March 3, 1939. She was a member of Brookstown United Methodist Church and retired from R.J. Reynolds with 27 years of service. Ms. Wiles enjoyed reading, going to the beach and most of all spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and loved gardening in her flower gardens. Ms. Wiles was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Dimmitte and a brother Alburn ""A.H."" H. Burton. She is survived by two daughters Melody Mangum and husband Phillip of Holly Springs and Beth Potts of Charlotte; a grandson Justin Wiles of Charlotte; three brothers Leroy Burton, Jr. and wife Rosie of Lewisville, Wayne Burton and wife Lydia of Pfafftown, and Larry Burton and wife Betty of Advance; and a host of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be conducted 4:00 pm Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Brookstown United Methodist Church. The family requests casual attire and a covered dish from attendees for the party.
