Mrs. Phyllis K. Jolly Swain, 74, of King, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 31, 2020. She was born on February 28, 1946 in Surry Co. the daughter of the late Margie and Carl Jolly. Mrs. Swain enjoyed watching Christian television and listening to Christian music. She loved watching butterflies, hummingbirds and painting crafts. She most of all enjoyed spending time with family, friends, her grandchildren and especially her great-grandson, Joshua. She will be missed deeply by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack F. Swain and her eldest daughter, Pamela K. Swain Dezern. She is survived by her daughter, Christy M. Cook (Will); a son-in-law, Bud Dezern; a grandson, Cody J. Metts; a granddaughter, Brandy M. Blake (David); a great-grandson, Joshua L. Blake; two sisters, Mary Smith and Gayle Holloway; two brothers, Tommy Jolly and Issac Jolly; special friends, Lena, Martha and Alice; and numerous extended family and friends. Private funeral services will be conducted at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. Allen Whiteheart and Rev. Jeff Hoge officiating. Burial will follow in Friendly Chapel Church Cemetery in Pilot Mountain. She will lie-in-state for those who wish to pay their respects from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Masks will be required and all social distancing protocols will be followed.
