Phyllis Pinnix Jones

Mrs. Phyllis Pinnix Jones, 76, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at Bermuda Commons. She was born June 5, 1940 in Forsyth County to the late Benjamin Franklin and Hazel Luper Pinnix. Mrs. Jones was a lifelong resident of Lewisville, NC, a member of the Class of 1958 at Southwest High School and was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. She married her high school sweetheart, Larry Eugene Jones, who preceded her in death in 2013 after 54 years of marriage. She thrived on managing details which served her well for more than 30 years at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. She also managed all the business details of her husband's business, Jones Mechanical. She was devoted to loving and caring for her family. Throughout her life, she quietly and faithfully reached out to help people who she knew to be in need. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Nancy (Joe) Butcher, Bonnie (Reginald) Luper. Surviving are a son, Bryan Jones of Lake Worth, Florida and a daughter, Stefanie Jones of Lewisville; also surviving is a sister, Sandra Castle of Lewisville. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 27, 2017 at Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Needham and Rev. Greg Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the burial in the church fellowship hall. The family would like to thank the staff at Bermuda Commons, Liberty Hospice, and a special caregiver, Susan Allison for all the love and care that was provided to Mrs. Jones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord United Methodist Church, 8955 Concord Church Rd. Lewisville, NC 27023 or to Hospice.
