Phyllis H. Huffman

Mrs. Phyllis H. Huffman, age 86 of King passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Huffman was born in Catawba County, December 27, 1925 to Henry William and Annie Elizabeth Propst Huffman. She was a member of Bethania Moravian Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Huffman was preceded in death by her grandson; Jeff Huffman, four sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Huffman is survived by her husband of 66 years; Jason Huffman of the home. One daughter; Sherry Huffman Spivey and husband Dr. David Spivey of Clemmons. One son; Daryl Huffman and wife Brenda Brown Huffman of Winston-Salem. Four grandchildren: Suzanne (Keith) Nagelski, Wendy Huffman Yontz, Jennifer (Jon) McGraw and Elizabeth Anne Spivey. Eight great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. One brother; Ray Huffman of Hickory. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Huffman will be held Wednesday morning, August 29, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethania Moravian Church in Bethania with Rev. Russell May officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. A committal service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
