Phylis Tilley

Miss Phylis Anne Tilley, 72, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, December 22, 2017, at her home. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" is a truth that Phylis Tilley has experienced. She was born in Forsyth County to Wanna Faye Fortson Tilley and the late Hubert Samuel Tilley Sr. on March 17, 1945. Phylis retired after 34 years of service from Integon Corp. She loved playing music and was the church organist at Parkland Church for 40 years. She loved gardening and being outside, but most of all she loved being with her family. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother; Hubert Samuel Tilley Jr. "Sammy". She is survived by her mother, Wanna Faye Tilley; two brothers, Philip Tilley (June) and Pastor Stephen Tilley (Donna); and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved as her own. A funeral service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel on Wednesday December 27, 2017, at 12 noon with Pastor Stephen Tilley officiating. In addition to flowers memorials may be made to Parkland Church, 2900 Old Salisbury Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
