Phillip Poindexter

Belews Creek - Phillip Ray Poindexter, 76, passed away on November 26, 2021 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a brief illness. He was born July 9, 1945 in Forsyth County, to the late Rufus C. and Elizabeth R Poindexter. Upon his return from serving his country in Vietnam, he began a career with Southern Bell Telephone / now AT&T for 40 +years where he was a BIC Engineer. Phillip was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends doing those activities.

In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his first wife Monica Saunders Poindexter; his brothers, Edward and Clarence Poindexter; and a brother-in-law, Larry Roberts.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Roberts Hall-Poindexter; daughter, Heather Poindexter; sons, Matthew Poindexter (Amber) and Brett Poindexter; step sons, Daniel Hall (Misty) and David Hall (Kristin); grandchildren, Marin, River, Arin and Owen; step grandchildren, Danielle, Mason, Kora, Miller and Bodie Hall, and  Brianna Alvarado; a  brother, Robert Poindexter (Cindy); sisters-in-law, Jasmine Poindexter, Holly Saunders, Rhonda Pinnix (Larry), and Donna Roberts; brothers-in-law, Reed Saunders (Marty), and Charles Roberts (Linda); and a host of special nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service for Phillip will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association. The websites and addresses to donate are below.
