Phillip Kiser Mitchell, Sr.

Mr. Phillip Kiser Mitchell, Sr., 76, passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Forsyth County on February 3 1939, the son of the late Vecue and Blanche Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was a huge Tarheel fan. Surviving are his wife, Loretta Mitchell; his children, Phillip Mitchell, Jr., Millicent Mitchell, Marcus Mitchell, Sr., Melanie Mitchell, and Michelle Mitchell Hunter; his sisters, Gwendolyn Leonard, Emily (Coleman) Rader, Cody Phillips, Betty Joan Jiles, Ellen Hairston, and Mary Joyner; his brothers, Ray Mitchell, Jerry (Catherine) Mitchell, Vecue Mitchell, and Christopher (Claire) Kimbrough; his grandchildren, Leroy Hunter, Aaron Hunter, Marcus Mitchell, Jr., Ashley Mitchell, and Adrian McCoy; also surviving are a God Granddaughter, Nakhii (Boo Mitchell) Young and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 20, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Sam Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Piedmont Memorial Park.
