Peter William Minges

Mr. Peter W. Minges of Clemmons NC, born August 21, 1940, passed away on July 20, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem NC. Pete was surrounded by his family in his final days. Pete was married to Barbara Minges on September 23, 1978. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Bilitch and his parents, William and Billie Minges. Pete is survived by his wife Barbara, four children, Holly Minges Wintrip, Chuck Westhofen, Patty Westhofen Blair, and Sue Westhofen Robertson along with 11 grandchildren. Pete graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Accounting and was a Partner at Price Waterhouse before helping his father with the family business, Minges Candy in Cincinnati OH. Pete also enjoyed flying while owning two planes. He enjoyed watching the Reds & Buckeyes, and exploring National & State Parks on long walks. His walk to the bottom of the Grand Canyon was a favorite. His many dogs always brought him joy as did frequent family gatherings for special events and just because. Pete volunteered his time at the Ronald McDonald House. A visitation will be held 9:30 am to 11:00 am, Friday, July 24, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel in Advance NC, followed by a brief service at 11:00 am by Rev. Mike Horne.
