Mr. Perry L. Brendle, 70, of Winston-Salem passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer. Perry was born on April 11, 1946, to Henry S. and Annie Ruark Brendle. After 35 years of loyal service he retired from the Winston-Salem Police Department as the vehicle fleet manager. He served in the Vietnam War with the United States Air Force, and was stationed in Japan and Washington State, in addition to several others. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His family will remember his smile and sense of humor, and will use fond memories to carry them through this difficult time and into the future. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Brendle; and one sister, Margaret ""Susie"" Brendle Fulk. Surviving are his loving wife, Ruby Jarvis Brendle; one daughter, Crystal Marshall; one son, Billy Keegan (wife Amy), three grandsons, Joshua Brendle, Gavin Leonard, and Spencer Keegan; one brother, Leslie Brendle; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
