Peggy Goforth Wright

Mrs. Peggy Goforth Wright, 70, of Winston-Salem, died Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born May 19, 1938 in Forsyth County to Ray Vaughn and Ruth Head Goforth. Mrs. Wright was a graduate of Mineral Springs High School, a member and past president of Rebekah Assembly of NC and past Noble Grand of the Evangeline Rebekah Lodge Number 27. She was a member of College Park ECA Home Extension and a member of Fairview Moravian Church where she was active in Circle Number 4. Mrs. Wright volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House for almost 20 years, provided transportation for the elderly and shut-ins, and was a fabulous cook. Surviving are her husband, Eugene D. Wright, Sr., of the home; a son, Eugene D. Wright, Jr., of Stokesdale, NC; a daughter, Gina Wright Puryear and husband Kelly, of Fayetteville, NC; a sister, Barbara Goforth Sprinkle and husband Larry of Cornelius, NC; two grandsons, Brian Michael Wright, of Kernersville, NC and Davis Wright Puryear of Fayetteville, NC and a granddaughter, Claire Anderson Puryear of Fayetteville, NC. Also surviving is a special family member, Jane Batson and very special friends Susan Moore, Kayla Creson, Mary Cannon, and Phyllis and Jeff Brown. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday October 18, 2008 at Fairview Moravian Church with the Rev. Reddick Weber officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM in the church parlor. Burial will be private.
