Mrs. Peggy Wilson Cornatzer Warden, of Advance passed away peacefully after an extended illness, on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Peggy was predeceased by her husband of twenty-six years, Charles Seabon Cornatzer of Advance and her brother Oren Ray Wilson of Winston-Salem. Peggy is survived by her caring husband, Dallas Warden of the home and her loving and devoted daughters, Tanya Sykes and her husband Alan of Graham and Kris Cornatzer and her daughter Molly of Advance. She leaves to cherish her memory, Tanya's children, Jordan Sykes and wife Leslie and their daughter Hollis of Charlotte and Ruffin Sykes of Greenville. She is also survived by Dallas' children, Ronald Warden and his wife Sue, Robyn and husband Rob King, all of Winston-Salem and their children, Cash of Boston and Sterling of New York. Peggy was a beautiful woman, proud but never vain. She was a caring and generous mother, devoted to her daughters and proud of their accomplishments and those of her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and homemaker, having won national recognition in the Crisco Great American Pie competition, and numerous awards at the Dixie Classic Fair, where she later was honored to serve as a judge in the food competition. Having retired from the Davie County Tax Office, she was fondly known to many throughout the county. Peggy's family extends their special appreciation to the compassionate health care and counsel provided by Dr. Susan Hines and her assistant Deborah Clark. The family gratefully acknowledges the loving care and support of her caretaker during the past weeks, Jan Harley, and that of the Mocksville office of Hospice and Palliative Care. As Peggy often said, ""Don't you worry, and don't worry about me. I'll be fine"". Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine⦠In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Peggy's memory to the Mocksville office of Hospice and Palliative Care, 377 Hospital Street, Suite 103, Mocksville, NC 27028. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 3, 2010 at Bixby Presbyterian Church in Advance with Rev. Danny Leonard officiating.
