Peggy Doss Van Hoy

Peggy Doss Van Hoy, age 94, passed away Saturday May 6, 2023, at Brookstone of Clemmons in Clemmons, NC. She was born to the late Jessie Randolph Doss and Elma Craft Doss on March 11, 1929. Peg was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Hale Van Hoy; brothers Ralph (Lee) Doss, Junius (Greta) Doss, James Doss; sister Betty (Vernon) Revels; nieces Suzanne Revels, Karen Doss, Marsha Doss; nephew Van Brooke Doss; and great nephew Damon Revels. Peg was a faithful and long-standing member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. She worked for Western Electric for a number of years and was a secretary for Jefferson Elementary School. You could find Peg working in her yard or painting Santas and figurines with her friend and neighbor, Susie Anderson. Peg delighted in feeding her birds and tending to her goldfish pond. She enjoyed trips with Hale and family and friends. She always made everyone feel welcomed and would share a homemade dessert or snack with them. Peg will be missed by all who knew her but will live on in their hearts and fond memories. Surviving are nieces Judy Wilkes, Shannon Tesh, Susan Snow; special niece-in-law Judy Revels; nephews Randy Revels, Maurice Revels, Tim Revels, Steve Doss, Clay Doss, David Doss; special great nephew Corey Revels; a special sister-in-law Wanda Doss; special friends Saly Fayez and Tom and Linda Thorpe; and many great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held At Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel on Wednesday May 10, 2023, at 2:00 PM with Dr. Cecil Cave officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM immediately before the services. The burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC. Flower memorials are welcomed, or donations can be made to the charity of ones choosing.
