Mrs. Peggy Marshall Stanley peacefully passed away Wednesday morning, February 11, 2015 at Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation. Peggy was born in Surry County, August 16, 1927 to Myron Marshall and Stella Key Marshall. She was a member of Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem where she enjoyed singing in the choir until her health declined. Never one to mince words, Peggy ""told it like it was"". She was much loved by her immediate as well as extended family, who often sought her advice and wise counsel. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Bill T. Stanley, Sr. and one sister, Norma Koontz. Surviving are one daughter, Beverly Mendenhall of Winston-Salem and one son and daughter-in-law; Bill and Kim Stanley; two grandsons who were the light of her life, Jason Mendenhall and Bill T. ""Thad"" Stanley, III; two sisters: Identical twin, Polly Key, Elizabeth Clapp; one brother, Robert Marshall, all of Asheboro; many nieces and nephews, all of whom were very special to her. Graveside services for Peggy will be held at the White Plains Friends Meeting in White Plains on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Rd., 2nd floor, Bethesda, MD 20814.
