Peggy Waggoner Sisk

Mrs. Peggy Waggoner Sisk, 97, of Winston-Salem, NC, entered the more immediate presence of her Savior on December 9, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 2, 1927, in Forsyth County to the late Mr. Samuel Sales Waggoner and Mrs. Alberta Fisher Waggoner. Peggy graduated from Gray High School in 1945. She loved the Lord and was a lifelong member of Trinity Moravian Church. She served many roles in the church throughout her life, including singing in the children's choir and playing in the band during her younger years, attending the Fellowship Sunday School class and Women's Circle meetings, serving on the kitchen crew, and singing in the adult choir until her health no longer permitted it. After graduation, Peggy worked for a few years at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company, where she met the love of her life, Oliver Franklin “Frank” Sisk. They were married June 10, 1950 and shared a lifetime full of memories that will forever be cherished. Peggy enjoyed watching and cheering on her Atlanta Braves and was also a Wake Forest Basketball fan. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend to all who knew her, and will be truly missed. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 74 years, Frank Sisk; son, Mike Sisk; and daughter, Lisa Sisk Novak (Jeff). 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Trinity Moravian Church, led by Rev. John Jackman. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to express their gratitude to Trellis Supportive Care for the loving care that was shown to Peggy during this time, as well as her two longtime oncologists, Dr. Patricia Zekan and Dr. Jennifer Crook for all their support during her long battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Moravian Church, 220 E. Sprague Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127 or Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the Sisk family during this time.
