Mrs. Peggy Rose Cook Pappas, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth Co. on May 18, 1932 the daughter of the late John and Essie Cook. Mrs. Pappas graduated from Gray High School in 1950. She worked for Western Electric, where she retired in 1983. Mrs. Pappas enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Pappas and a brother, John Cook. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years; Milton Pappas of the home, a daughter; Linda P. Hull (Richard) of King, two granddaughters; Leah Pappas of Winston-Salem and Dana Solana (Jimmy) of Walnut Cove, three great-grandchildren, two sisters; Pat Wilkins (Bobby) of Lexington and Betty Wiles (Hersey) of Winston-Salem and two brothers; Bill Voss (Vivian) of Winston-Salem and David Cook of Richmond, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Mrs. Pappas was a cancer survivor and it was her wish that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
