Peggy Taylor Miller

On May 28th, 2024, at approximately 5:20 pm, our beloved Peggy Louise Miller peacefully made the transition into eternal rest and life everlasting at the Hospice Home of High Point. Peggy Miller was born on June 15th, 1937, in Summerfield, NC as the fifth child of Oscar Robert and Violet Taylor. Her mother passed away when Peggy was only 18 months old, and her father was left with five children under the age of 12 years old to raise. Later with his second wife, Obie Crawford, the family thrived. Peggy was the youngest of five children who preceded her in death, Wendell Taylor, the oldest, Clyde Taylor (Arcola), Kenneth Taylor and a sister Edna Williams (Lynwood), as well as step-sister Julianne Rankin.

Peggy married Frank Miller on June 10th, 1960. They had been married for sixty-four years. Frank preceded Peggy in death on July 4th, 2023. Since Frank was a career soldier in the U.S. Army, Peggy began to follow him to different places around the world. To this union were three children, Frank Miller Jr. (Melanie), Monique Coble (Rodney), and Marcus Miller (Kaye) all of Summerfield, NC. Grandchildren include Toccara Miller of Greensboro, NC, Drew Coble of Charlotte, NC, Chelsey Harris (Gabe) of Charlotte, NC, Taylor Miller of Greensboro, NC, and Sydney Miller of Summerfield, NC; as well as a great grandchild Aiden Armstrong of Greensboro, NC.

Peggy is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Paul Miller Jr., and Ronnie Miller; five sisters-in-law Katie Miller, Rosemary Alston, Frances Miller all of Greensboro, NC; Lavolia Taylor of Oak Ridge, NC, and Aime Taylor of Springboro, OH, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

Peggy was a devoted member of St. James AME Church of Oak Ridge. She taught Sunday school, was a missionary president, choir member and held various other positions within the church. Peggy was also a homemaker for many years, yet she held several jobs at AFFES during Frank’s military career. She concluded her career at Adam Millis corporation where she worked for seventeen years. Peggy attended Laughlin High School at the same time as her husband, Frank. They were devoted alumni of Laughlin High School and attended yearly class reunions. Her passions included gardening, tending to her flowers, singing, traveling, and loved to go shopping.
