Peggy Jean Ragsdale Long

Mrs. Peggy Jean Ragsdale Long passed away Sunday March 8, 2009 at Forsyth Hospital. Peggy was born on September 16, 1931 in Forsyth County to the late Johnnie and Mamie Ragsdale. Peggy was an avid reader of the Bible and loved watching Father Corapi on the television. Every day she would play her favorite computer game, mahjong and have her glass of tea. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Peggy had a passion to serve others. She worked with the outreach program at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, and always put everyone before herself. When Peggy needed to get away from things to clear her mind she would always go to her favorite quite place, ""Peggy's Park"". She also loved to go on trips to the beach and mountains. Her favorite color without question was green. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Numan Calvin Long. She was survived by four children; a son Randy Long and wife Deborah; two daughters Jean Kelvyn Long and Kathy Taylor; and a son Blake Long; two grandchildren Andrea ""Little Bird"" Wallace and Boyd Taylor and wife Theresa; two great grandchildren David Taylor and Jack Wallace; five siblings Dot Fairchild, JD Ragsdale, Frank Ragsdale and wife Nancy, Maxine Hartman and husband Richard, and Pam Harper; and a very special friend Mary Mallett.
