Peggy Davis Hancock

Mrs. Peggy Davis Hancock passed away Wednesday September 2, 2015 at Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem. Peggy was born in Forsyth County on November 29, 1926 to the late Fred Davis and Alta Bodenheimmer Davis. She loved playing basketball, was an exceptional caregiver to her husband, and cooked some of the best fried green tomatoes. She was preceded in death by her husband Cleo F. Hancock; son Charles R. Hancock; and a sister Mary A. Pope (J.S.). Peggy is survived by daughter Linda H. Bowen (Stephen); grandson Joshua K. Bowen; a brother Jake Davis (Polly); a sister Shelva W. Cook (Larry); and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care or the foundation of Donor's Choice.
