Peggy Crouse

Winston-Salem – Mrs. Peggy “Colene” Stone Crouse, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at White Oak Manor in Burlington. She was born on April 15, 1934, in Surry County to Fred and Bertie Stone. Family was very important to Colene. She loved spending time and talking with her grandchildren, Steven and Rachel. She also enjoyed reading and watching shows like Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Colene loved singing in the choir and singing hymns.

In addition to her parents, Colene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard M. Crouse; her sister, Agnes Thompson; niece, Terry Stoltz; and great-nephew, Tod Stoltz.

She is survived by her son Martin Crouse (wife, Sandra); two grandchildren, Steven and Rachel Crouse; and many special nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Colene will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Mickey Alcorn officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 12:45 pm prior to the service. Burial will be private at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
