Peggy Allen Bean

Mrs. Peggy Allen Bean, 81 of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 6, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on November 21, 1930 in High Point, the daughter of the late William Cletus and Pearl Lackey Allen, the oldest of their four children. She was retired from AT&T's Lexington road plant where she worked in production. She was of the Methodist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William and her brother, Randall. She is survived by her children, son Gary Bean of Winston-Salem, daughter Andrea Doty of Wallburg and son William Bean, Jr. and his wife Debi of Thomasville. She is also survived by her sister Carol Wall and husband David of Pinehurst, her brother William Allen of Thomasville and sister-in-law Paula Allen of Trinity. In addition, she is survived by five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. J.Randy Hall officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 noon until 1:30 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. Her children would like to express special and deep appreciation to the staff of DePaul Southfork Assisted Living of Winston-Salem. Your selfless, loving and always attentive care of our mother over the last years of her life is one of the greatest blessings we will ever know. Yours is not a job, it is truly a calling and you do it tirelessly and well. Thank you.
