KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Pearl Louise Jones Hayworth, 90, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the Hospice of the Piedmont Home. Pearl was born on December 20, 1924 in Surry County to Wesley and Mary Callie Smith Jones. Pearl was a very active member at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the church secretary and church historian for many years. Pearl was a graduate of Jones Business School of High Point. She enjoyed cooking and was well known for her candied yams. Pearl was a devoted wife and mother and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, William Hayworth; and two brothers, Joseph and George Jones.
Surviving are three sons, Douglas Hayworth (Carol) of Jamestown, David Hayworth (Patti) of Kernersville, and Daniel Hayworth (Cheryl) also of Kernersville; six grandchildren, Megan Hayworth, Emily Hayworth, Trisha Hayworth Emberland, Jessica Hayworth Moore, Joseph Layne and Jonathan Layne; six great grandchildren, Delaney, Karli, Gage, Addison, Karsyn and Camden; one sister, Edith Keiger of King; and one brother, Jimmy Jones of Pinnacle.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Roy Cantrell and Rev. Mark Hollar. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
