Mrs. Pearl Burge Brown passed away Saturday, June 07, 2014 at Springwood Care Center. She was born September 23, 1927 in Surry County to the late Martha Falk Burge and Emmett Pate Burge. Mrs. Brown played semi-professional basketball for Chatham Manufacturing after high school.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Edison Brown; three sisters; and one brother. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Boyd; her granddaughter, April Murray and husband, Jim; one sister-in-law, Marie Wall; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 10 at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 9 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Rd. SW, Lilburn, GA 30047.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Springwood Care Center and Liberty Hospice for the exceptional care given to Mrs. Brown during her illness.
