WALKER - Winston-Salem Mrs. Pauline Mohea Darnell Walker, 79, passed away Wednesday, April 29 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Surry County on November 8, 1929 to the late Ernest Wade Darnell and Beulah Poindexter Darnell. Mrs. Walker was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. She was a devoted mother, faithful friend and active caregiver to the community. She worked vigorously for the March of Dimes and Meals on Wheels. Without her, those in need would not have been able to get to their doctor's appointments for treatment. Mrs. Walker was a precious angel of this earth, whose love touched her family and all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph T. Walker; two brothers, JR and Robert Darnell; and one sister, Joy Spruill. Surviving are two sons, Randy Walker (Terri) of Winston-Salem and Dale Walker (Patti) of Palm Harbor, FL; one daughter, Laurie Vanhoy (Rodney) of East Bend; six grandchildren, Maggie, Cassie, Steven, Amy, Rachael and Renee; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Dominic; three sisters, Jo Jones, Lovie Phillips and Judy Gambil; and one brother, Tim Darnell. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 2 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Janet Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4700 Old Walkertown Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 or to the March of Dimes, 6504 Falls of Neuse Road, Suite 100, Raleigh, NC 27615.
