Pauline Simmons Tilley

Mrs. Pauline Simmons Tilley, 92, of Winston-Salem died Monday, September 14, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born February 19, 1923 in Stokes County to Elisha and Maggie Tilley Simmons. Mrs. Tilley and her husband were the owners of Tilley Hardware and Supermarket in Westfield NC for 29 years. In 1979 they moved to Clemmons, NC where they owned and operated B & P Motors. Mrs. Tilley was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church for 36 years. She enjoyed visiting with friends, meeting new people and took every opportunity she could to talk about the Lord. She loved her family unconditionally and always put their needs before her own. She was known for always having a beautiful smile on her face. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her husband, Bill S. Tilley. Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Tilley Hammons (Steve) of Lewisville; and a son, Dr. Mark A. Tilley (Rochelle) of Asheville; four grandchildren, Joshua Tilley, Lindsey Cheek, Lauren Saliga, and Mikey Saliga; two great grandchildren, Tilley-Gray Cheek and Maines Cheek. A funeral service will be held at 4:00PM Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Dr. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Westfield Baptist Church, Westfield, NC. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
