Mr. Paul Downer Watts, 73, of Winston-Salem, passed away January 22, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born December 27, 1947 in Asheville, NC to the late Herman Donald Watts and Pansy Hensley Watts. He was a chief engineer at many facilities throughout his career.  Paul was a member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville and Played drums there.  In his early years, he was a professional drummer. He toured with groups and performed at the Grand Ole Opry.  In addition, he traveled on the weekend with a gospel ministry group called “Damascus Road”. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling to the mountains, especially Boone, NC.  Paul had his favorite dog named Brownie and loved him very much.  He was an enduring loving husband to his wife and children, and he especially loved his grandchildren.  Most importantly, he loved Jesus.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Tony Watts; three brothers, Bobby, Charles, and Jay Watts: and one sister, Joyce Watts.  Paul is survived by his loving wife Ann Watts; children, Price Watts, Cheri Watts Myers, Terri Lincoln, Rene’ Watts; stepchildren, Rick Brooks (Shelly), Randy Brooks, Tracy Nelson, and Lisa McGown (Greg); and grandchildren, Kayla Nelson, Tiffany Cooke, one sister, Nancy Linville (Gray); special nieces, Wendy Hutchins, Patience Brooks, Cayce Hewlett and nephew Robby Brooks, and several other Nieces and Nephews.  A private graveside service will be held for the family, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.  Online condolences may be made to www.hayworth-miller.com.
